Active Beginnings’ reporting is already providing deep understanding where each child is on their physical and gross motor development journey.
Knowing each individual child’s stage they are present at creates the opportunity for true improvement going forward in each and every area identified.
The Greek Orthodox Community Child Care Centre has been operating since 1979. By partnering with Active Beginnings’ FunFit Kidz program this year comes a commitment to doing even more for their children in Gross motor development in 2023 and beyond.
Staff of the Greek Orthodox Community of NSW Child Care Centre believe that the early years of a child’s life are their most influential. It is within these years that a child develops the foundation skills and abilities that will carry them through life.
Having practised Munch and Move initiatives it was a focus area of the service to go over and above the initiative and exceed in the children’s physical literacy and development.
The beginning of the partnership has established a baseline for GOC childcare with evidence based reporting that will provide the inspiration for the remainder of 2023 (and beyond). Targeted programming that is QIP ready and supports children but also educators throughout the FunFit Kidz program as an exciting community collaborative initiative for childcare in Sydney.
We celebrated GOC’s success recently showcasing the service as part of our Active Beginnings Powerboard where the BIG movers for our little movers are celebrated for their commitment for evidence based, data driven gross motor development in Early Childhood Education.

Every child on the program receives identified strengths and opportunity areas are recorded and importantly provide the starting point to target the areas that that help most.
Treating that child as the individual they are. Supporting each and every child’s individual physical development journey is celebrated and we cannot wait to share the improvements to ensure that our children and service are exceeding with a love for physical activity.
